Internet Movie Cars Database
Internet Movie Cars Database (abbreviated IMCDb) is an online database of automobiles, motorcycles, trucks and other motor vehicles that appear in movies. It was founded in 2004.
The site ranks appearances from five stars, for cars that are major stars in the plot, to one star, for bit players and cameo appearances.
Internet Movie Cars Database, abbreviated IMCDb, is an online database of auto, motorcycle and other motor vehicle appearances in films. It was founded in 2004 and was created along the lines of the Internet Movie Database.
The site allows you to search by both the name of the movie and the name of the vehicle, which makes it easy to find the specific model you are looking for. The site also features a forum for those who are interested in discussing vehicles that appear in movies and television shows, as well as an extensive list of all of the cars and other motor vehicles used in filming.
There are a number of ways to get involved with the website, including signing up for an account, adding information and correcting mistakes. The site is constantly growing, and there are currently more than 6,000 vehicles that have not been identified.
IMCDb was originally designed to show the vehicles that appeared in movies, but has since been expanded to include TV shows and even video games. There is a separate section of the website for listing the cars and other vehicles that have been featured in various video games.
IMCDb has a large user base and is free to use, but the website does run on advertising. There are a number of different ways that users can help support the site, including identifying vehicles and posting them in the forums. I recently had the opportunity to speak with Antoine Potten, who runs the website, about his experience running the site.
